Hey everyone, welcome back to the Visible Magic podcast, Episode 18. Can you believe we’ve gotten this far? I sure didn’t see it coming.

Join us in the latest episode of our Web Vision podcast, where we had the pleasure of hosting Jay, the CEO of VisibleMagic.

So, we’ve been practically living on the conference circuit lately, hitting one after the other.

It’s been a whirlwind of tech talks, crypto chats, and yes, a lot of coffee. Each conference had its own flavor, from the tech-centric to the fashion-forward, and each one taught us something new.

A Dive into the World of Web3 and the Quirks of Crypto Conferences

Starting with SXSW—or rather, its side events—we dipped our toes into the vibrant world of Web3 and crypto. The diversity and optimism at these gatherings were contagious, even for a couple of cynics like us. It was refreshing to see so much enthusiasm and innovation in one place. And let me tell you, the discussions about integrating NFC tags into fashion? Mind-blowing.

The idea that you could verify your high-end gear with just a tap of your phone feels like we’re living in the future.

But it wasn’t all smooth sailing. Our venture into the world of Bitcoin conferences left us a bit puzzled.

It felt more like a fan club meet-up than a tech conference. It’s tricky finding our crowd when the focus is more on hype than on building tangible solutions.

ETH Denver: Discovering Our Tribe and the Value of Real Connections

ETH Denver, on the other hand, was a breath of fresh air. It was like finding our tribe—people who are all about creating and innovating. It’s one thing to talk tech over Twitter, but connecting face-to-face with the folks who are shaping the future of Web3? That’s where the magic happens. And the idea of turning these meet-ups into hackathons, where we could actually collaborate and create on the spot? That’s something we’re definitely bringing to the table next year.

Amid all this, we had some eye-opening moments about the importance of being in the right place at the right time. It’s one thing to exchange business cards at a booth; it’s another to share a beer with someone who could change the course of your project. Those are the connections that really matter.

The Future of Tech: AI, Blockchain, and Art Converge

As for the tech itself, we’re seeing some exciting trends. The intersection of AI, blockchain, and art is creating new opportunities for creators and technologists alike. We’ve got some projects in the works that we’re not quite ready to spill the beans on, but let’s just say the future looks bright (and possibly decentralized).

We’ve got more conferences on the horizon, with trips planned from San Francisco to Dubai.

The journey never really ends, does it? But that’s the thrill of it—there’s always something new around the corner, always a new challenge to tackle.

Wrapping Up: The Takeaway from Our Tech Odyssey

So, what’s the takeaway from all this? Well, the tech world is vast and varied, and finding your niche can sometimes feel like looking for a needle in a haystack. But once you find it, the possibilities are endless. Whether you’re into coding, designing, or just have a passion for technology, there’s a place for you here.

Before we sign off, a quick shoutout to our listeners on LinkedIn and everywhere else—you guys make this journey worthwhile. If you’re ever at one of these conferences, look us up. We’re always down for a coffee and a chat about all things tech.

That’s it for Episode 18. Thanks for tuning in, and keep an eye out for what we’ve got coming next.

It’s sure to be an adventure. See y’all next week!
